Scheduled Reports

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Scheduled reports let you turn an Unwrap Assistant conversation into a formatted report you can send once, deliver on a recurring schedule, or download as a PDF. Stakeholders receive updates by email or Slack without you rebuilding the same analysis every week.

Overview

After you explore a question in the Assistant, you can generate a report with narrative and charts grounded in that conversation. From there you can:

  • View the report as a polished document in Unwrap

  • Send it once to specific people or channels

  • Subscribe to updates so a fresh report is generated and delivered on the schedule you choose

  • Download the same content as a PDF

Each scheduled delivery regenerates the report from the conversation context, so recipients get an updated story—not a static copy of the first version you created.

Scheduled reports may need to be enabled for your user or organization. Contact your Unwrap administrator if you do not see subscription options in the Assistant or on the Subscriptions page.

How It Works

When you set up a scheduled report, Unwrap ties the subscription to the assistant conversation where the analysis lives. On each run, the system generates a new report from that context and delivers it to your configured email and/or Slack recipients.

You can also send a one-time report or download a PDF from the same report view—without creating a subscription.

Creators manage the schedule and recipient list. Teammates who are not the creator use the Subscriptions page to add or remove themselves from email delivery.

Where to Access Scheduled Reports

Scheduled report controls appear in several places:

  • Assistant conversation — A prompt card above the message box after the Assistant has responded; use View reportSubscribe to updates, or Manage subscription (creators).

  • Report view — Open the report from the conversation to Subscribe to updatesSend report, or Download as PDF.

  • Subscriptions page — Main navigation Subscriptions lists scheduled reports for the current team, alongside other subscription-style alerts. Use this page to discover reports, subscribe or unsubscribe yourself, or edit/archive reports you own (or that you manage as a team admin).

Getting Started

  1. Open the Assistant and ask the question you want to report on. Refine with follow-ups until the analysis reflects what you want to share.
See Unwrap Assistant for general Assistant usage.

  2. Wait for the Assistant to finish responding. A card appears above the input field:

    • Before a report exists: Turn this into a shareable report

    • After a report exists: Take this further

  3. Generate or open the report.

    • Click View report to open the report panel, or

    • Click Subscribe to updates—if no report exists yet, Unwrap will create one first.

  4. Choose how to share:

    • Send report — one-time email/Slack delivery

    • Download as PDF — save to your device (wait for charts to finish loading)

    • Subscribe to updates — set a recurring schedule and recipients

  5. Configure a subscription (if subscribing):

    • Set a title (used in delivery subject lines)

    • Choose cadencetime, and timezone (a next send preview shows when the first automated run will go out)

    • Add email recipients and/or a Slack channel (if your organization has Slack connected)

    • Click Create subscription, or Create and send now to deliver the current report immediately and schedule future runs

  6. Confirm success. The prompt card shows Active subscription with the schedule summary. Use Manage subscription to change settings later.

Viewing a Report

Open View report from the prompt card to see the full report in a side panel. The report includes:

  • title

  • Text sections with your analysis

  • Charts from the conversation, with links to open the live chart in Unwrap

Footer actions:

  • Subscribe to updates — open the schedule and recipient form

  • Send report — one-time delivery

  • Download as PDF — save a branded PDF (available after charts finish loading)

Sending a Report Once

Use Send report when you need a single delivery—for example before a review or to include someone who was not in the thread.

  1. Open the report (View report).

  2. Click Send report.

  3. Add email recipients (choose teammates or type addresses in your organization’s allowed domains).

  4. Optionally add a Slack channel.

  5. Send.

This does not create a recurring schedule. You can send again manually anytime.

Downloading a PDF

  1. Open the report (View report).

  2. Wait until charts finish loading.

  3. Click Download as PDF.

The file saves to your browser’s download location. The PDF uses the same styled layout as email deliveries, useful for decks, archives, or offline sharing.

Subscribing to Recurring Updates

Use subscribe to updates when you want a report delivered to your inbox or Slack on a recurring schedule.

Cadence options

When you subscribe, you can choose:

  • Daily

  • Weekly (select day of week)

  • Every other week

  • Monthly (day of week) — e.g. first Monday of the month

  • Monthly (day of month) — e.g. the 15th

Set the send time and timezone. The form shows when the next send will occur.

Recipients

  • Email — Pick teammates or type addresses. Domains must match your organization’s allowed domains.

  • Slack — Optional channel name if Slack is integrated with Unwrap.

At least one email recipient or Slack channel is required to create a subscription.

Create vs. create and send now

  • Create subscription — Saves the schedule. The first automated delivery happens on the next scheduled run shown in the preview.

  • Create and send now — Creates the subscription and sends the current report immediately; later runs follow your schedule.

Managing a subscription you created

As the creator (or a team admin), you can update or stop a subscription from:

  • Manage subscription on the prompt card or Assistant toolbar, or

  • Edit report (gear icon) on the Subscriptions page

You can change titlecadencetimezone, and recipients, or archive the subscription to stop all future sends. Archived subscriptions can be restored from the manage form when needed.

Subscription status

  • Active — Scheduled runs and deliveries proceed

  • Paused — Temporarily not sending (when applicable)

  • Archived — No further runs; can be restored by the creator

Subscriptions Page

Go to Subscriptions in the main navigation to see recurring items for the team you are currently viewing, including Scheduled reports from the Assistant and other alerts (such as group subscriptions and volume alarms).

Find what you need

  • Search by name

  • All — everything on the team

  • My subscriptions — items you created or receive by email

What you can do

Teammate

Subscribe or Unsubscribe (email only—does not stop the report for others)

Creator

Edit report — change schedule and recipients

Team admin

Edit or Archive any scheduled report on the team

In the Assistant, subscription controls on the prompt card are for the creator. Teammates should use the Subscriptions page to opt in or out of email delivery.

What Recipients Receive

Deliveries include:

  • The report title and formatted body (text and chart images)

  • Links to view charts in Unwrap

  • Go deeper link to open the report in the Assistant to ask follow-up questions

Slack recipients see the report in the configured channel. Email recipients must be on the subscription list or have subscribed via the Subscriptions page.

Best Practices

  • Start broad in the Assistant, then subscribe. Nail the analysis in the conversation before locking a recurring schedule.

  • Use clear report titles. Recipients scan subject lines—include the topic or time period (e.g. “Weekly checkout friction”).

  • Match cadence to your ritual. Weekly for team syncs, monthly for leadership readouts.

  • Use Create and send now when you want immediate alignment, then let the schedule handle updates.

  • Point stakeholders to Subscriptions so they can Subscribe or Unsubscribe without asking you to edit the full recipient list.

  • Ask for evidence in the thread before subscribing, so each run’s report stays grounded in verbatims and trends you care about.

FAQ

Q: Does each scheduled send repeat the exact same report?
No. Each run regenerates the report from the assistant conversation context, so content can reflect newer data and analysis.

Q: Can I send to both email and Slack?
Yes. Add both when creating or editing a subscription.

Q: What happens if I archive a subscription?
No further scheduled deliveries are sent. The creator can restore the subscription from the manage form for that conversation.

Q: I unsubscribed on the Subscriptions page—did I cancel the report for everyone?
No. Unsubscribe only removes your email from the list. Only the creator or a team admin can archive to stop delivery for the whole team.

Q: Why don’t I see Subscribe to updates?
Scheduled reports may not be enabled for your user or organization, or you may be in a view where the prompt card is hidden. Contact your Unwrap administrator.

Q: Can teammates manage the subscription from the Assistant?
The prompt card’s Manage subscription is for the creator (and admins via the Subscriptions page). Teammates manage personal email delivery on Subscriptions.

Q: How is this different from sharing an Assistant link?
A shared link lets someone read and fork the chat. A scheduled report delivers a formatted report on a cadence to defined recipients without them opening the thread each time.

Q: Can I still share a one-time emailed report without subscribing?
Yes. Use Send report from the report view for a single delivery.
