Pendo Guides and Pendo Sentiments
Unwrap can integrate natively with Pendo to collect and analyze product feedback from Pendo guide polls and sentiment surveys.
To connect, first choose the integration that matches where you collect feedback:
Choose the Pendo Guides integration if you want to ingest responses collected through polls in a Pendo guide as feedback entries.
Choose the Pendo Sentiments integration if you want to ingest the responses that are collected through Pendo Sentiment surveys as feedback entries.
Create a separate Unwrap integration for each guide or survey you want to connect. If you collect feedback through both, you can connect both integrations individually. Follow the steps below to set up a separate integration for each Pendo guide or survey you want to integrate.
Before you start: create a Pendo integration key
Both integrations use a Pendo integration key. Ask a Pendo subscription administrator to:
Open Settings -> Integrations -> Integration Keys in Pendo.
Select "+ Add Integration Key".
Enter a description, such as “Unwrap integration”
Select Create, then securely save the key.
Pendo displays the key only at the time of creation. If you cannot access an existing key, create a new one. For details, see Pendo’s integration-key instructions.
You’ll use this integration key in the API Key field when setting up Pendo Guides or Pendo Sentiments in Unwrap, as described below.
If you want to connect a Pendo Guide to Unwrap
Step 1: Find your Guide ID
Open the guide’s details page in Pendo. Copy the Guide ID from the browser URL (which will be the identifier following /guides/). For details, see Pendo’s Guide ID instructions.
Step 2: Create the integration in Unwrap
Go to the Integrations page in Unwrap, click on New Integration, then select Pendo Guides, and fill the form with the following details:
Integration Name:- A display name of your choice, for example “Onboarding Feedback from Pendo Guides”
API Key:- Your Pendo integration key.
Guide ID:- The identifier of the guide you want to connect.
Guide Name:- The name of that guide, if this field is shown in Pendo.
Unwrap can discover the guide’s poll IDs automatically. Leave Quant Poll ID and Qual Poll ID blank to use automatic detection.
If you need to select specific polls, provide both IDs:
- Quant Poll ID: the rating or choice poll.
- Qual Poll ID: the free-text poll.
If the guide contains several polls or automatic detection fails, contact your Unwrap representative for help selecting the correct pair.
Step 3: Validate and save
Select Validate, then Submit once validation succeeds. Save the integration on the next page.
If you want to connect a Pendo Sentiment Survey to Unwrap
Step 1: Find your Survey ID
Open the survey in Pendo’s Sentiment area and copy its Survey ID from the browser URL.
(Use the Sentiment Survey ID. A Guide ID or a Listen feedback-item ID will not work.)

Step 2: Create the integration in Unwrap
Go to the Integrations page in Unwrap, click on New Integration, then select Pendo Sentiments, and fill the form with the following details:
Integration Name:- A descriptive name, such as “Product CSAT from Pendo Sentiments”
Integration Key:- Your Pendo integration key.
Sentiment Survey ID:- The identifier of the survey you want to connect.
Step 3: Validate and save
Select Validate, then Submit once validation succeeds.
Each imported survey submission becomes one feedback entry. It includes the survey’s questions and answers, together with the survey name, response score, and sentiment when provided by Pendo.
Troubleshooting
Validation cannot find the guide or survey
Check that the identifier belongs to the integration you selected and that your integration key belongs to the correct Pendo subscription.
Pendo Guides cannot identify the polls
Check that the guide contains both a rating or choice poll and a free-text poll.
For guides with several polls, contact your Unwrap representative to confirm the correct poll IDs.
Pendo shows more responses than Unwrap
Unwrap imports written feedback. Rating-only submissions and submissions without an open-text response are excluded.
