Amplitude Webhook Cohort Sync
Last updated: October 13, 2026
Unwrap allows you to use Amplitude's cohort webhooks to attach additional user metadata to your entries, joining on the user's ID. This metadata can include cohort membership, as well as up to 50 additional user properties of your choice.
Setup
Prerequisites
You should already be importing, or planning to import, feedback entries into Unwrap that carry the same user IDs as exist in Amplitude. This is necessary to allow Unwrap to identify which entries should receive a specific user's Amplitude metadata. You do not need to set up this feedback integration before configuring the cohort webhook, but the data from Amplitude will have nowhere to attach if entries with user IDs are never imported into the platform.
Configure the webhook in Amplitude
Follow Amplitude's instructions for setting up the webhook.
An Unwrap representative will supply you with the URL endpoint to enter into this setup page.
When asked to define the payload to send, select the default Amplitude payload. Please do not use the Apache FreeMarker template.
For each cohort you want to export, navigate to the cohort's page and select "Sync" and choose the webhook you just set up.
Select up to 50 user properties to sync along with the cohort.
Choose a sync cadence (no faster than 10 minutes) and click "Sync" to begin syncing the data to Unwrap.
Once these steps are done an Unwrap representative will confirm that data is flowing correctly and you'll soon see the metadata populating on entries.
